2007-12-15 - Progress...
Just a word to tell you what's going on with wxCover.
As you may have noticed, there have been a few changes in the SVN repository. You can test it with the SVN version of wxWidgets.
With this, you should be able to print on linux with very good quality. The only issue is that it is currently a bit slow. This is due to the resolution used by default in wxWidgets (600 dpi). Work is in progress on this problem.
2007-09-23 - Some news finally
wxCover is not dead! I had stopped working on it because there was a big bug with wxwidgets: It wasn't possible to print images with an higher resolution than 72 dpi on linux.
This made wxCover completely useless on linux.
I've worked on a (big) patch to correct this. And the good news is that it has been included in wxwidgets SVN!
Now I'm going to focus on wxCover. Expect a new release of wxCover after the release of version 3.0 of wxWidgets (end 2007? early 2008?).
2007-02-24 - wxCover 1.0 beta 2 released!
I've just released a new beta of wxCover. Here's the changelog:
- Added spanish translation (thanks Remialdo!!)
- Added support for transparency (changed the way covers are displayed)
- Now uses cimg to resize the covers before printing (better quality)
- Improved printing quality on win32
- Small optimization on cover display
There still remains a problem in the linux version: the printing quality is not very good. I'm working on it and I hope it will be fixed soon.
2007-01-27 - wxCover 1.0 beta 1 released!
This is the first public version. I have tested it with success on Linux (Ubuntu Edgy) and Windows 2000. Some bugs in the Win32 version, see contribute page to help me eradicate them.
Please, test it and don't hesitate to report me any bugs/problems/feature requests! (see help us).
